'PDP led coalition' are not allowing us to carry political activities : Hurriyat (G) | KNO

Condemning the arrest spree and placing resistance leaders under house arrest, Hurriyat conference on Monday called it as an extreme type of vandalism and terrorism. This is martial law like situation & since inception of PDP led coalition, the authorities are not allowing us to carry political activities, said Hurriyat.

Srinagar, January 22: (KNO) : Hurriyat said that its chairman Syed Ali Geelani continuous to be under house detention since last several years, while ahead of so-called republican day of India, several leaders including Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai were placed under house arrest. Statement said that Mohammad Yasin Malik and Bilal Sidiqee were arrested and lodged in Central jail Srinagar and other leaders among those arrested and lodged in different police stations , include Shah Wali Mohammad, Huriyat spokesperson Gh Ahmad Gulzar, Mohd Yasin Ataie, Syed Imtiyaz Hyder, Omer Adil Dar and Ashiq Husain Narchhor. Huriyat condemned the fresh arrest spree saying that apart from several youths, Masarat Allam Bhat, Dr. Shafi Shariati, Dr. Muhammad Qassim Faktoo, Ghulam Qadir Bhat, Dr. Ghulam Muhammad Bhat, Shabir Ahmed Shah, Altaf Ahmad Shah, Ayaz Akbar, Peer Saifullah, Raja Meraj-u-Din Kalwal , Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Farooq Ahmed Dar, Shahid-ul-Islam, Zahoor Ahmad Watali, Kamran Yousuf, Javed Ahmed, Ghulam Mohammad Khan Sopori, Mohammad Yusuf Mir, Mohammad Ramazan Khan, Molana Sarjan Barkati, Amir Hamza Shah, Mohammad Yousaf Falahi, Mir Hafeez-Ullah, Mohammad Yousuf Lone, Abdul Ahad Para, Shakeel Ahmad Yatoo, Nisar Ahmed Najar, Javed Ahmad Phule, Mohammad Amin Ahangar, Mohammad Amin Parey, Latif Ahmed Dar, Mufti Abdul Ahad, Shakeel Ahmad Bhat ,Mohammad Ashraf Malik, Mansoor Ahmed Kaloo, Mohammad Subhan Wani, Hakim-ul-Rehman, Ikhlas Ahmad Sheikh, Shabir Ahmad Mir, Mohammad Sultan Sofi, Ghulam Nabi Gujri, Ghulam Hassan Shah, Abdul Majeed (Logripora), Abdul Gani Bhat, Raies Ahmad Mir, Salman Yousuf, Nazir Ahmed Manto, Tauseef Ahmed, Mohammad Rafiq Ganai, Farooq Tawheedi, Mohammad Subhan Khan, Ghulam Mohammad Tantrey, Gowher Ahmed Sheikh, Muhammad Rajab Bhat, Nasir Ahmad Ganai, Danish Mushtaq, Abdul Hameed Parey, Meraj-u-Din Niako, Abdul Rashid Rather, Shariq Maqbool, Hakim Showkat Ahmed, Sajjad Ahmed, Asadullah Parey, Sona ullah Dar, Hilal Ahmed Pala, Abdul Samad Inqilabi are languishing in different jails since long. Hurriyat while ridiculing unjustified restrictions over political activities, said that authorities have virtually created martial law like situation and resistance leaders are barred from carrying their political activities. Criticizing their rhetoric for ‘Battle of ideas’’ and lamenting at PDP, Hurriyat said that instead of showing respect for people’s opinion, they are gaging opposite voices. While referring to use of unbridled state power, Hurriyat said that instead of facing resistance camp on political turf, ruling coalition prefer and believe in creating terror and harassment. This is taking heavy toll, said Hurriyat and it is the basic reason for prevailing gloomy situation & uncertainty in state. Commenting over the recent arrests, frisking and night raids ahead of its republican day on January 26th, Hurriyat said it is a mere drama being enacted by forces and state police. Hurriyat said that in wake of Indian suppressive policies in Kashmir, India has lost moral right to observe its Republic Day parades as the state has never been its part.(KNO)
